Erick Garcia Ramirez, University of Leeds. Part of the postgraduate logic seminar series.
This talk will start by surveying the results on decidability of (the typical theories of) geometry (real field) and arithmetic (ring of integers). I will then dig into the consequences of such results for other structures commonly studied in geometry and number theory. My aim is to offer a glimpse of the interactions between logic and classical areas of mathematics.
