Adiabatic dynamics of instantons on the 4-sphere

In this talk, based on https://arxiv.org/abs/1508.06566 I will first introduce instanton, a particular class of startic solutions of Yang-Mills equations, and the so called “adiabatic approximation”, which allows one to approximate the full, time-dependent Yang-Mills dynames by a path in the space of instantons.
I will then examine the specific case of one instanton on the 4-sphere, and I will show that the dynamics predicted by the adiabatic approximation is non-trivial.
If time allows, I will also discuss some subtleties related to the definition of a metric on the framed directions of the moduli space.
