Research and innovation

We are one of the largest mathematics research departments in the UK, conducting impactful research across applied mathematics, financial mathematics, pure mathematics, and statistics. In the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014, we were ranked in the top 10 in the UK for Mathematics for the quality of our research.

Researchers in the School are actively involved with the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics, which brings together over 200 researchers and data scientists within the University of Leeds.
