The University of Leeds is continually investing to provide exceptional environments that enable researchers from different subject areas to work together to tackle global challenges.

Flexible degree

This course is extremely flexible, allowing you to combine 3 subjects into a degree that is shaped by your career aspirations and interests. At every stage of the course you’ll be able to decide how much time you dedicate to each subject.

Natural Sciences can be studied as a three-year BSc or a four-year MNatSc, BSc, which integrates a Master's degree. You also have the opportunity to undertake a year in industry or spend a year abroad.

Research-led teaching

You’ll be directly engaged in research through individual and team-based project work – giving you access to our specialist facilities. As well as becoming an expert in the individual subjects you choose to make up your course, you’ll develop an appreciation and understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of modern science from researchers working across the traditional scientific boundaries.

Industry-relevant content

Our Industrial Advisory Committee helps ensure our courses are up-to-date with modern practices and techniques and reflect the latest developments in science and industry.

Exceptional student support

It is a challenging and rewarding course. I had initially enrolled on to the MChem programme but quickly realised that I wanted to study biochemistry too, which encouraged me to transfer to Natural Sciences.  I was also excited to study a new science, which I hadn’t studied before - environmental science. Natural Sciences is a great choice for those wanting to explore science on an interdisciplinary level.  The course equips you with a broad range of skills and there are numerous career opportunities, scientific and non-scientific, associated with Natural Sciences.
