Nina Trbojevic

I am a PhD student currently undertaking experimental research as part of the Soft Matter Physics group at the University of Leeds. My research is in the area of liquid crystal templating, under the supervision of Dr. Mamatha Nagaraj (Physics) and Prof. Daniel Read (Applied Maths). I come from a chemistry background - in 2016 I graduated with a MChem Chemistry degree from the University of Leicester. I also undertook a year-long undergraduate Erasmus research project synthesising ionic liquid crystals as a member of Prof. Sabine Laschat's group at the University of Stuttgart.

Research interests

  • Liquid crystal templating
  • Organic synthesis
  • Characterisation techniques
  • Novel applications of LCs
  • Twist-bend nematic (Ntb) phase

  • MChem Chemistry
