Ellana completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Bradford, gaining a BSc and MChem in Chemistry with Research Experience.

Her Masters research project focused on the synthesis of labelled naphthaquinones to study structure-selective fragmentations in the elctrospray ionisation mass spectra under the supervision of Dr R. Bowen.

Ellana started a PhD in Applied Materials Chemistry under the supervision of Dr N. Sergeeva in the Colour Science Department at the University of Leeds in October 2014. Her PhD investigates the use of novel chemical additives and developing new formulations for efficient, cost effective and non toxic application in wall coverings. The PhD is industrially sponsored by a leading wall coverings company.
