2019-20

This bursary is for you if you’re a former student of the University of Leeds studying for a postgraduate qualification. Courses that are run in conjunction with other universities are excluded from the bursary.

  • Value - what money is on offer

    The University will pay 10% of the self-funded portion your fees for each year of the course. If no fees are paid then no bursary is awarded.

  • Who is eligible

    This is an automatic bursary but you have to inform us and provide evidence that you’re a former student of the University of Leeds.

This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence and/or professional experience and available to you if you intend to enrol on the Polymers, Colorants and Fine Chemicals masters course at the University of Leeds.

    Fees and up to £750 maintenance.

    You must be self-funding, full time, classified as UK/EU for tuition fee purposes and not in receipt of other Faculty of Mathematics and Physical Sciences award. Only available to students on our Polymers, Colorants and Fine Chemicals MSc.

The Head of School Excellence scholarship is awarded to students who have achieved  A*A*A at A-level or equivalent.

  • Value - what money is on offer

    £1,000 per year of study

  • Who is eligible

    This is an automatic scholarship awarded on condition of you achieving A*A*A at A-level (A2) (or equivalent qualification, based on the criteria used by the School for offer purposes). The grades must be in subjects required for the course.

  • How to apply

    No application necessary. You will automatically be considered for this scholarship.

  • Deadline

    No deadline – automatic.

  • Conditions

    Year 1, new to the University, achieve a yearly attainment percentage of 70% or above (to include all compulsory modules) with all modules passed at the first attempt. The scholarship will be withheld in a year if you fail to achieve 70%, but will be reinstated the following year if your performance recovers to 70% or over. £1,000 will be awarded per year of study. You won’t receive the scholarship for the industrial placement year or study abroad year. You must not be in receipt of any other Faculty of Mathematics and Physical Sciences award (includes all courses parented by the School of Physics and Astronomy and students on a foundation year course at the University of Leeds).

    Year 1, new to the University and not in receipt of any other Faculty of Mathematics and Physical Sciences award. There is the opportunity to be awarded a £1,000 in higher years if your average in the previous year of your course is among the top ten averages of all undergraduate students, in that year group, on a course parented by the School of Mathematics (includes all courses parented by the School of Mathematics and students on a foundation year course at the University of Leeds).

    £5,000 paid in cash instalments when you are registered on your course (and we have verified this).

  • Who is eligible

    The criteria will be confirmed when the scholarship opens. The aim of the scholarship is to encourage students from under-represented groups to embark on a postgraduate qualification.

  • How to apply

    The scholarships are highly competitive and just meeting the criteria will not guarantee you an award.

2018-19

This scholarship is valid for the MSc Food Science course, and it includes tuition, basic medical insurance provided by the university, a monthly living stipend, round-trip airfare, and travel allowance.

  • Who is eligible

    Applicants Must: Be a national of a World Bank member developing country; Not hold dual citizenship of a developed country; Hold a Bachelor (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years prior to the Application Deadline date; Have 3 years or more of recent development-related experience after earning a Bachelor (or equivalent) degree; Be accepted unconditionally to enroll in the upcoming academic year in one of JJWBGSP preferred master programs by the Application Deadline date; Not be a staff member (which includes consultants) or relative of a staff member of the World Bank Group. You must have received an unconditional letter of admission on the MSc Food Science course at The University of Leeds by April 12, 2018.

If selected as a finalist or if you are awarded a scholarship, you must inform the JJWBGSP if you have other sources of scholarship funds. The University of Leeds is delighted to offer two Indonesian passport holders the opportunity to apply for our merit based scholarship offered in conjunction with GREAT. The scholarship is available for two students joining us for Undergraduate study from September 2019 and will be worth £10,500.

  • Value - what money is on offer

    The two successful candidates will each receive a scholarship worth £3,500 for each of the three years of their bachelor degree study. The total award will be worth £10,500 over three years. The scholarship will be deducted from the total fee payable for each year of academic study. The scholarship will not be offered during a placement year or study year abroad. The scholarship holder needs to satisfy academic attainment indicated in the terms and conditions.

  • Who is eligible

    Holders of an Indonesian passport who hold an offer at the University of Leeds.

  • How to apply

    Complete this application form and submit an essay explaining in no more than 500 words why the University of Leeds should award you with a scholarship.

  • Deadline

    Applications must be received by 23.59 on the 29th March 2019. Successful applicants informed by the 15th April 2019.

  • Conditions

    Applicants must be self-funding and not in receipt of other fee scholarships, new to the University of Leeds, enter onto Level 1 and classified as international for tuition fee purposes. You must not be in receipt of any other University of Leeds award. You must achieve a yearly attainment percentage of 60%. The scholarship will be withheld in a year if you fail to achieve 60%, but will be reinstated the following year if your performance recovers to 60% or over. Self-funding students who successfully complete the International Foundation Year (IFY) at Leeds will also be eligible for this bursary. The decision of the selection panel is final and no appeals will be considered.
