Masters

We offer a number of scholarship opportunities to support and reward students from around the world. If you are a UK or EU student you may be able to receive a government postgraduate loan.

2019-20

This bursary is for you if you’re a former student of the University of Leeds studying for a postgraduate qualification. Courses that are run in conjunction with other universities are excluded from the bursary.

  • Value - what money is on offer

    The University will pay 10% of the self-funded portion your fees for each year of the course. If no fees are paid then no bursary is awarded.

  • Who is eligible

    This is an automatic bursary but you have to inform us and provide evidence that you’re a former student of the University of Leeds.

  • How to apply

    If you think you’re eligible, you need to contact the relevant admissions team for the course you have applied for.

  • Deadline

    No deadline – automatic.

  • Conditions

    You must be a former University of Leeds student.

If you are applying for a postgraduate course for 2018 you may be eligible to apply for our £5,000 Leeds Masters Scholarships. To register to be notified when the scholarship application opens please complete this short online form.

  • Value - what money is on offer

    £5,000 paid in cash instalments when you are registered on your course (and we have verified this).

  • Who is eligible

    The criteria will be confirmed when the scholarship opens. The aim of the scholarship is to encourage students from under-represented groups to embark on a postgraduate qualification.

  • How to apply

    The scholarships are highly competitive and just meeting the criteria will not guarantee you an award.

2018-19

This scholarship is valid for the MSc Food Science course, and it includes tuition, basic medical insurance provided by the university, a monthly living stipend, round-trip airfare, and travel allowance.

  • Who is eligible

    Applicants Must: Be a national of a World Bank member developing country; Not hold dual citizenship of a developed country; Hold a Bachelor (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years prior to the Application Deadline date; Have 3 years or more of recent development-related experience after earning a Bachelor (or equivalent) degree; Be accepted unconditionally to enroll in the upcoming academic year in one of JJWBGSP preferred master programs by the Application Deadline date; Not be a staff member (which includes consultants) or relative of a staff member of the World Bank Group. You must have received an unconditional letter of admission on the MSc Food Science course at The University of Leeds by April 12, 2018.

    By February 21, 2018, the application guidelines, online application, and a complete list of selection criteria will be available on the World Bank Scholarships Program website.

    Completed applications, including the application form and two professional references, must be submitted online by the Application Deadline date of 12:00pm EST April 12, 2018.

  • Conditions

    You must have received an unconditional letter of admission on the MSc Food Science course at The University of Leeds by April 12, 2018. Upon completion of the program, JJWBGSP scholars must immediately return to their home countries to apply their new skills to their countries’ social and economic development. The JJWBGSP scholarship may only supplement, and does not duplicate, any other source of financial support/fellowship you might have. If selected as a finalist or if you are awarded a scholarship, you must inform the JJWBGSP if you have other sources of scholarship funds. The JJWBGSP stipend may be withdrawn completely or partially if during the scholarship period the Program has evidence of additional sources of support.
