Undergraduate

We are committed to recognising hard work and achievement and we offer a number of scholarship opportunities to support undergraduates who have the potential to be an outstanding student.
If you are a UK or EU student, you may also be able to receive government support to help towards your tuition fees and living costs.

2019-20

The Head of School Excellence Scholarship is awarded to students who have achieved A*A*A at A-level or equivalent.

  • Value - what money is on offer

    £1,000, in year one of your course.

  • Who is eligible

    This is an automatic scholarship awarded on condition of you achieving A*A*A at A-level (A2) (or equivalent qualification, based on the criteria used by the School for offer purposes). The grades must be in subjects required for the course with an A* in Maths or Further Maths.

  • How to apply

    No application necessary. You will automatically be considered for this scholarship.

  • Deadline

    No deadline – automatic.

  • Conditions

    Year 1, new to the University and not in receipt of any other Faculty of Mathematics and Physical Sciences award. There is the opportunity to be awarded a £1,000 in higher years if your average in the previous year of your course is among the top ten averages of all undergraduate students, in that year group, on a course parented by the School of Mathematics (includes all courses parented by the School of Mathematics and students on a foundation year course at the University of Leeds).

2019-20

The University of Leeds is delighted to offer two Indonesian passport holders the opportunity to apply for our merit based scholarship offered in conjunction with GREAT. The scholarship is available for two students joining us for Undergraduate study from September 2019 and will be worth £10,500.

  • Value - what money is on offer

    The two successful candidates will each receive a scholarship worth £3,500 for each of the three years of their bachelor degree study. The total award will be worth £10,500 over three years. The scholarship will be deducted from the total fee payable for each year of academic study. The scholarship will not be offered during a placement year or study year abroad. The scholarship holder needs to satisfy academic attainment indicated in the terms and conditions.

  • Who is eligible

    Holders of an Indonesian passport who hold an offer at the University of Leeds.

  • How to apply

    Complete this application form and submit an essay explaining in no more than 500 words why the University of Leeds should award you with a scholarship.

  • Deadline

    Applications must be received by 23.59 on the 29th March 2019. Successful applicants informed by the 15th April 2019.

  • Conditions

    Applicants must be self-funding and not in receipt of other fee scholarships, new to the University of Leeds, enter onto Level 1 and classified as international for tuition fee purposes. You must not be in receipt of any other University of Leeds award. You must achieve a yearly attainment percentage of 60%. The scholarship will be withheld in a year if you fail to achieve 60%, but will be reinstated the following year if your performance recovers to 60% or over. Self-funding students who successfully complete the International Foundation Year (IFY) at Leeds will also be eligible for this bursary. The decision of the selection panel is final and no appeals will be considered.

This scholarship is for any internationally rated applicant who has been offered a place on any of the undergraduate degree courses within the Faculty of Mathematics and Physical Sciences.

    £2,000 per year of study.

  • Who is eligible

    Any international applicant who has been offered a place on any of the undergraduate degree courses within the Schools of Chemistry, Food Science and Nutrition, Mathematics and Physics and Astronomy.

  • Conditions

    You must be self-funding, new to the University of Leeds, enter onto Level 1 and be classified as international for tuition fee purposes. You must not be in receipt of any other University of Leeds award. You must achieve a yearly attainment percentage of 60% or above with all modules passed at the first attempt. The scholarship will be withheld in a year if you fail to achieve 60%, but will be reinstated the following year if your performance recovers to 60% or over. £2,000 will be awarded per year of study. You won’t receive the scholarship for the industrial placement year or study abroad year. If you’re a self-funding student who’s successfully completed the International Foundation Year (IFY) at the University of Leeds you’ll also be eligible for this scholarship.

    This is an automatic scholarship and will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
